Surrounded by dramatic foothill landscapes, towering pines, and the winding Ghost River, this campground is a popular base camp for off-roaders, back-country explorers, and nature lovers. At North Ghost, it’s just you, the wild, and the open Alberta sky. Whether you’re tearing up the trails or soaking in the quiet of the forest, this campground invites you to truly unplug and explore.
Campground Features
Un-serviced Sites: Spacious sites suitable for tents, RVs, and trailers. Each includes a fire pit and picnic table.
Vault Toilets: Conveniently located throughout the campground.

Activities & Attractions
Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Access: One of the area’s key attractions—bring your ATV or dirt bike and explore the extensive OHV trail network nearby. Trail staging is allowed in designated areas only. You have to trailer out from this campground.
Ghost River Exploration: Wade through shallow waters, relax creek-side, or photograph the winding landscape. Note: water levels vary seasonally.
Fishing: try your luck catching a cut-throat trout or brook trout in the clear waters of the Waiparous Creek.
Hiking & Wildlife Viewing: Look for elk, deer, and even wild horses in the surrounding wilderness.
Backcountry Access: The campground serves as a popular jump-off point for more remote excursions into the Ghost–Waiparous region.
