Directions:

If coming from the South you go 13 kms West of Cochrane on Hwy 1A and
travel 72 kms North on Highway 40/734. Walk in tenting is on south side of
Burnt Timber Creek, and the main campground is in the north side.

Site Rates: $40.00
per night per unit

(tent or trailer or motor home) with FREE FIREWOOD. 

 

This campground closes one week after the September Long on the following Monday. 

 

8 walk-in tenting sites on south side and 22 trailer/tenting sites on north side of Burnt Timber Creek.

First come, first serve basis only - NO RESERVATIONS

Burnt Timber Campground is a rustic recreation area nestled in the forested foothills of the eastern slopes, with a peaceful creek-side setting, this campground is a popular base for outdoor adventurers, families, and nature lovers looking to unplug and explore.  Some great hiking and fishing in the area.

 

Campground Features

Un-serviced Campsites: Suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs. Each site includes a picnic table and firepit.

Vault Toilets: Conveniently located and regularly maintained.

Firewood: free for registered campers.

Water Pump: non-potable water available.

First-Come, First-Served: No reservations—arrive early, especially on weekends.

Creekside Setting: Several sites are close to Burnt Timber Creek, offering a tranquil atmosphere and great spots for relaxing or cooling off.

Activities & Attractions

Fishing & Creek Play: Cast a line in Burnt Timber Creek or let the kids wade and explore along its banks.

Hiking & Wildlife Viewing: Enjoy forest walks and keep an eye out for deer, moose, and a wide variety of birds.

Photography & Nature Escapes: The surrounding forest and foothills offer stunning backdrops for nature photography and stargazing.
